Otto Family

Although they now serve in Metro Manila, Philippines, both Micah (from Baraboo, WI) and Christina (from Phoenix, AZ) have a heart for ministry and missions that began long before their time in Manila.

After graduating from Martin Luther College, Christina and Micah moved to East Asia in 2019. When the pandemic disrupted their plans, they carried their passion for missions into the years that followed. Christina taught at Christ–St. Peter Lutheran School in Milwaukee while Micah completed his pastoral studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon. They married in 2022 and spent Micah’s vicar year serving at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tucson, Arizona. They then returned to Mequon, where Micah directed a campus ministry through a local congregation and they welcomed their first son, Asher. After later moving to Manila, they welcomed their second son, Ezra.

The Otto family believes that mission work is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle. They seek to open their home and their lives to others through Christian hospitality, building a community where people can encounter the grace of God. Their ministry includes hosting a house church, facilitating a variety of Bible studies throughout the week, teaching Bible classes online through the TELL Network, and finding new ways to connect people with Jesus in the midst of everyday life.​
