Although they serve in Metro Manila, Philippines now, both Micah (from Baraboo, WI) and Christina (from Phoenix, AZ) have prior experience in ministry and missions.

After graduating from Martin Luther College, each moved to cities in East Asia in 2019. Although the pandemic changed their plans, they never forgot this ministry even while keeping busy throughout the following years. Christina served as a teacher at Christ-St. Peter in Milwaukee, WI while Micah earned a master's degree, completing his pastoral studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. During that time, they got married in 2022, served a Vicar year at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tucson, AZ, returned to Mequon, where Micah directed a campus ministry program through a local congregation, and welcomed their first child, Asher.

The Ottos believe that mission work is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle. Every outing is a mission journey! They have a passion for immersing their relationships in God’s grace and for opening their home to all in Christian hospitality. Currently, their ministry includes facilitating three Bible studies a week, developing an online Filipino evangelism tool, training leaders through the TELL Network, and engaging in the never-ending journey of culture learning and maintaining relationships.
